Winter Wellness Tai Chi Qigong & Yin Restorative Yoga Evening – Transitioning to Winter

Join us for our Winter rebalancing Yin Yang practice of Tai Chi Qigong and Yin & Restorative Yoga – finishing with Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) to close the evening

This busy time of the year can be so demanding and stressful for both the body and mind – through this evening we will release tension and stress, rest, and luxuriate in nourishing practices, to soothe and align the mind, body and soul, letting go of the year to bringing harmony for the new year and new possibilities ahead.

Lily will guide a fun, flowing Tai Chi and Qigong practice to refresh our energies and nourish our souls, releasing stagnant Qi, stiffness and tightness through muscle, tendon and joint release. She will introduce Traditional Chinese Medicine for self cultivation (Yang Sheng), to improve health and wellness to preserve quality of life, and discover how to use simple acupressure points to help boosting the Qi and improve our immunity system.

Following will be a deeply nourishing Yin & Restorative Yoga practice to restore Qi energy flow throughout the body, transitioning into a deeply relaxing 30 minute Yoga Nidra practice with David—also known as yogic sleep—a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that induces total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.

Closing the evening with light refreshments a chat and farewells as our evening comes to a peaceful close.

Who is it for?

Tai Chi & Qigong and Yin & Restorative yoga is suitable for ‘every body,’ whether you are new to Tai Chi Qigong & Yoga or a regular yoga practitioner.

The postures practiced in these styles of tai chi qigong and yoga are passive and designed to stimulate the meridian energy pathways and parasympathetic nervous system, inducing a state of mind, body and spirit harmony and balance.

Complete beginners are welcome.

What is Yin & Restorative Yoga?

  • Yin & Restorative yoga uses passively held poses, typically for 3 to 5 minutes, to stimulate, align and unblock the bodies myofascial meridian energy pathways restoring Qi energy (prana) and calming the nervous system; bringing the mind, body and spirit back in to balance.

Tips

  • Find your appropriate edge: Move slowly and gently into the pose. Don’t go straight to your “maximum” in the pose and never stretch so far as to cause pain
  • Stillness: consciously try to release into the pose, and to remain still, without fidgeting or adjusting position too much
