Take time to let go stress and unwind with a wonderfully relaxing and blissful, 2 hour Qigong yoga and Yin Yoga evening with a Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep meditation) and traditional Chinese Live Music.
As the Spring season transitions to Summer the world fully awakes from its slumber, it makes this the perfect time to cultivate a healthier, happier and more balanced life, setting your path for the whole year ahead.
For 75 minutes Lily will take you slowly through the gentle practice of Chinese health Qigong to boost our Yang Qi energy, and a deep Yin Yoga practice to restore Qi (chi) energy flow throughout the body, then transitioning into a relaxing 30 minute Yoga Nidra practice with David—known as yogic sleep—a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that induces total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.

What is included In this two hours workshop:

  • Practice of Chinese health Qigong to boost our Yang Qi energy
  • Practice a Yin Yoga focused on the detoxification of the liver and gallbladder
  • Yoga Nidra accompanied by live Chinese music played on the Guzheng
  • Refreshments at the close of the evening

Who is it for?
Qigong and Yin yoga is suitable for ‘every body,’ whether you are new to Qigong yoga or a regular yoga practitioner. Just bring yourself, warm stretching clothes and socks, and if preferred your favourite warm blanket (we supply blankets but if it feels more cosy with your own, your welcome to bring one).
The postures practiced in these styles of yoga are passive and designed to stimulate the meridian energy pathways and parasympathetic nervous system, inducing a state of mind, body and spirit harmony and balance.

Qigong

Qigong is a mind-body-spirit practice that improves mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. Qigong opens the flow of energy in meridians used in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It enhances our ability to feel the Life Force underlying the physical world and to deepen our communication with it.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga uses passively held poses, typically for 3 to 5 minutes, to stimulate, align and unblock the bodies myofascial meridian energy pathways restoring Qi energy (prana) and calming the nervous system; bringing the mind, body and spirit back in to balance.
Becoming still in a pose and staying for a while creates space, allowing sensations and often unconscious emotions to surface and release from your system. This way you clear the mind without getting caught up in the stories of those emotions. In Yin yoga each posture applies moderate stress to the muscles, connective tissues—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.
Yin yoga is especially for you if your energy levels are feeling depleted or you if are over-stimulated with your mind overactive or your energy levels erratic.

Yoga Nidra

Live Music

Lily will open and close the evening with traditional Chinese music played on the Guzheng, accompanying the Yoga Nidra relaxing guided meditation to finish the evening.
